A colorectal cancer survivor is trying to raise money for cancer research by breaking a world record. Specifically, he plans to circle the globe in fewer than 23 days in order to set a new record for the fastest eastbound trip around the world.

National LGBT Health Awareness Week 2004
March 14th – 20th is the second annual National LGBT Health Awareness Week. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered individuals encounter healthcare barriers since they're not afforded equal rights in the U.S. This decreases preventive care and increases their risk for a number of conditions.
National Colorectal Cancer Month 2004
March 2004 marks the fifth annual National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. It's a time to focus on the prevention and early detection of colon and rectal cancer. Although talking to a loved one about getting screened for this disease may be awkward for some, it is important. Colorectal cancer claims more than 50,000 lives a year and is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.
