FDA Approves Avastin for Treatment of Colorectal Cancer
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Avastin (bevacizumab) as a treatment for colon or rectal cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. This is the first drug ever to be approved that works by choking off a tumor’s blood supply. Reported February 26, 2004.
