Summary for the Week

Two studies this week focused on colorectal cancer prevention. The first examined the role of dietary fiber and the second focused on flavonoids (antioxidant compounds found in fruits, vegetables, tea, wine, and dark chocolate.) A third study published this week proposed a solution to a common side effect of the chemotherapy drug Eloxatin (oxaliplatin). The fourth and final study tried to determine if people who have HNPCC might benefit from routine examination of the small intestine.
