Colorectal cancer survival rates vary, but these statistics will give you a general idea of colorectal cancer survival rates for people who live in Korea. The five-year survival rate represents the percentage of patients alive five years after their initial diagnosis of colon or rectal cancer.
Five-Year Survival Statistics:
- Duke's A / Stage 1 Colorectal Cancer: 90%
- Duke's B / Stage 2 Colorectal Cancer: 75%
- Duke's C / Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer: 49%
These colorectal cancer statistics were derived from a study published in the
World Journal of Surgery. The researchers examined data from apprximately 2,200 patients who had undergone surgical resection. They found that while gender and tumor size had little to do with colorectal cancer survival, tumor stage had a significant impact. Lymph node
metastases also adversely impacted survival.
