Rectal cancer survival rates vary, but these statistics will give you a general idea of rectal cancer survival rates for people who live in Norway. The five-year survival rate represents the percentage of patients alive five years after their initial rectal cancer diagnosis.

Five-Year Survival Statistics:

  • Duke's A / Stage 1 Rectal Cancer: 69%
  • Duke's B / Stage 2 Rectal Cancer: 62%
  • Duke's C / Stage 3 Rectal Cancer: 59%
These rectal cancer survival statistics were derived from a study published in the journal Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. The researchers examined data from apprximately 2,100 patients who had undergone total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer.
