Question: What is leucovorin?
Answer: Leucovorin (loo-ko-VOR-in) is a clear, colorless injectable vitamin complex used to treat advanced colon cancer. It's a reduced form of folic acid and was first approved by the FDA as as a colon cancer treatment on June 20, 1952. By itself, leucovorin isn't able to fight cancer at all. Rather, it helps patients by increasing the effectiveness of another drug, 5-fluorouracil.

The generic name is "leucovorin" and the brand name is "Leucovorin".
